For a topic for the NCOH Annual Scientific Meeting 29 October 2020, only one option was possible: what lessons can, so far, be learned from the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic?
Time & date: Thursday 29 October 2020, 14:00 – 17:00 h
Registration: register here.
The wet market in Wuhan, China, called the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, is believed to be the source of the pandemic. A wet market is a market where live animals are sold. The wet market in Wuhan also sold wildlife.
- Wet markets; can they stay open, or is only the additional sale of wildlife on certain wet markets problematic?
- What about the health impact of the pandemic: how do you make decisions during a pandemic?
- What were the early warning signals? How can we detect earlier and prepare better?
- What was the societal and economic impact, and was the cure worse than the ailment?
Due to the measures in place, this ASM will be an online event. If possible, the speakers and moderators will be presenting from a studio. There will be ample opportunity for questions and debate with the panel members.
