Preparedness and Response to Infectious Disease Threats, Conference

The conference “Preparedness and Response to Infectious Disease Threats” takes place during the “10th Meeting of the Community of Users on Secure, Safe and Resilient Societies” organized by the European Commission.

The Conference will focus on infectious disease threats: how to be better prepared and how to respond. Different aspects and gaps in preparedness and response will be discussed in four sessions. The conference aims to create synergies among different actors in the infectious diseases field (policy-makers, scientists, industry/SMEs, practitioners), promote research results, identify promising tools that have the potential to be taken up by practitioners and enhance market opportunities for research results.

The expected outputs of the conference are:

  • Interaction among different actors, sectors and disciplines
  • Synergy building among research, capacity-building and education projects
  • “State-of-the-art” in research and innovation and policy implementation
  • Information base to policy-makers, scientists, industry/SMEs and practitioners
