Exhibition Infected!
The exhibition at the National Museum Boerhaave in Leiden deals with outbreaks of infectious diseases and how they can disrupt life. The exhibition also ties in with the recent coronavirus outbreak and the public debate on vaccination coverage.
Infected! shows an intriguing balance between health and real risk and between social exclusion and empathy. How did we deal with epidemics like plague and smallpox in the past? What insights do historical epidemics offer for the future? And what solutions does science offer? With the exhibition the museum aims to enable the widest possible audience to discover the importance of science for today’s life.
The content of the exhibition has been created in collaboration with the RIVM, LUMC, Stichting Biowetenschappen en Maatschappij and the GGD Hollands-Midden.
